BOSSE Senior Secondary Programme (12th Standard)

PDB is facilitating the Senior Secondary Programme (12th Standard) offered by the Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), Sikkim. This programme is equivalent to the 12th standard under the formal education system and is designed to provide flexible, accessible, and learner-centric education for students who have successfully completed their Secondary (10th) level from a recognized board.

Through PDB, students can enroll in the BOSSE Senior Secondary Programme and continue their higher secondary education with flexibility. The programme is especially suitable for students who require an alternative learning pathway due to personal, professional, or other commitments.

Who can apply?

Eligibility & Admission

To enroll in the Senior Secondary Programme, learners must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Age: The minimum age for enrollment is 15 years as of August 31 (for Block I) and February 28 (for Block II) of the year of admission.
  • Educational Qualification: Learners must have successfully completed their Secondary (10th) level from a recognized board.
  • Required Documents: A self-attested copy of the Secondary Certificate must be submitted at the time of admission.
  • No Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit, making this programme suitable for learners of all age groups.

Secondary Programme

Secondary Certificate is equivalent to the Xth standard. Eligibility for taking admission to Secondary Programme is minimum 15 years of age (Before Exam). There is no restriction on choice of subjects and combinations, except that minimum one language has to be taken. BOSSE offers a flexible and comprehensive Secondary Programme equivalents to Class 10. The curriculum is designed following the guidelines of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) to ensure a broad-based and holistic education.

Examination & Certification.

Examinations are conducted as per the rules and regulations of BOSSE. After successful completion of the programme, students will receive the Senior Secondary Certificate issued by BOSSE, Sikkim, which is equivalent to the 12th standard certificate of other recognized boards.

Students completing the BOSSE Senior Secondary Programme through PDB can pursue undergraduate degree programmes, professional and technical courses, competitive examinations (subject to eligibility criteria), vocational courses, and employment opportunities in both government and private sectors.

The objective of PDB is to support learners by providing guidance, admission assistance, and academic support for the BOSSE Senior Secondary Programme, helping students achieve their educational and career goals with flexibility and accessibility.

  • Learners have to choose five subjects with at least one and maximum two Language Subjects from Group A and the remaining subjects from Group B.
  • Two additional subjects can be taken from either of the two groups with additional fees as per norms.
  • Cultivate and implement innovative ideas.
  • Subjects with asterisk* have theory as well as practical.
